Remote start is the upgrade people use every single day. You press a button, the engine starts, the heat or the air conditioning goes to work, and by the time you get to the car the glass is clear and the seat is comfortable.
We fit Viper remote start systems to cars, trucks and SUVs, with 1-way and 2-way remotes, one-button and four-button options, and the option to add smartphone control later. The install is vehicle-specific: every key system, transmission and wiring layout is a little different, so we plan around yours.
What goes into a remote start install
A remote start has to do three things safely: run the engine without the key in the ignition, keep the vehicle’s immobilizer happy and shut everything down the moment someone steps on the brake or opens the hood. That takes a control module, an interface or bypass for your key system, and careful connections.
On modern vehicles the module talks to the car over its data network. On older vehicles it works through the ignition and accessory circuits. Either way, the work is done behind the dash and under the steering column, and we protect the interior while we do it.
Choosing the remote
A 1-way remote sends the command and you trust it. A 2-way remote gets an answer from the car, on a screen or with lights, so you know the engine is running. If you park far from where you will be, 2-way is the one to pick.
